This mod kit is designed to be used with Tim Worthington's N64 RGB kit and borti4938's N64RGB V1.
The PCB has a regulator onboard which generates a stable 3.3V supply for the boards mentioned above. The output of these boards suffers from digital noise, depending on the CPU, PPU and APU loads.
Powering the replacement RGB output boards from a separate power supply helps "decouple" the noise from the analog part.
